GUEST BLOGGER TAKEOVER!

Hay frands!

It's me Mal from Champagne Problems! As you all know, Jules is in fancy Belgium and too busy for us obese 'Muricans right now, so she has enlisted me to entertain you all. YOU'RE WELCOME.

So, I'm pretty lazy and hungover today, so I'm not going to actually use my brain and write a brand new post. What I will do is give you the short version of a post I wrote in response to a disgustingly chauvinistic article entitled Why Chivalry is Dead, From a Man's Perspective written by the captain of the S.S. Douchecanoe. I read this little gem while I was perusing Target on my lunch hour the other day and went right ahead and got outrageously offended by it. Allow me to give you a basic synopsis: Ladies should be treated like ladies. Everyone knows that, right?! But wait, then why aren't they being shown the respect they deserve!? Oh, that's right, it's their own fault for not acting like they deserve respect. What's that you say? Sounds a little like the transference property of victim blaming? That's because it is. His claim is that if we demanded to be taken out to dinner and never lift a finger to do anything that our gentleman friends could instead do for us, we'd get a little more out of life than texts and no-strings-attached hookups. And that doesn't really sit well with me, because it's the 21st century. We can handle our own lives, thank you very much, and maybe some of us are looking for texts and no-strings-attached hookups. So, that's pretty much that. Hop over to Champagne Problems and read the entire unedited version - it's pretty hilar if I do say so myself. (If you're easily offended or republican, maybe don't.)

Happy Friday, bizitches!
