Bucket list item checked! Ok, so Tuscaloosa was NOT on my Southern Bucket List, however, I had never been to the state of Alabama before, so that was a new one for me. A few weeks ago, one of J's friends who works in the athletic department at good old University of Alabama, (otherwise known as BAMA) got us tickets to the Homecoming game. Our friends Julie, Dustin, J and I got up at the crack of dawn and drove ourselves over to T-Town. And when I say drove ourselves, I mean I took a nap and J drove the whole way.
Super excited to be up at 6:30am to drive to Tuscaloosa
We stopped by Talladega- no we didn't really stop because nothing was going on- to which I had to yell "Shake n' Bake" because I am a 13 year old boy. Then we continued on, made a little stop at Target to buy some snacks and beverages- and in the checkout line instead of saying "thank you", what do you think they said?
"ROLL DAMN TIDE!"

It was alarming and hilarious and Alabama and I loved every second of it. I also assumed everyone in the stadium had a gun because I assume everyone in Alabama carries them, like mints in purses. And yes, this is coming from someone who grew up in Idaho, so who am I to talk.
My final thought? Nick Saban is way too tan. Work on that one, sir. You look like John Boehner.
We found a girl with a golf cart to drive us to the game.

Yes, I take random pics of people's children. But she was adorable.
Also, since it happened to be homecoming, all of the greek houses were decorated. Julie and I dragged our GDI boyfriends around campus to find our chapters houses:
Julie in front of the Delta Zeta house- I like the Wizard of Oz theme, however, do they not know that it's "Sweet Home Kappa Gamma?" Sheesh.
Obviously the finest house on campus.
And the second finest, for my Mom. And Aunt. And Grammie.
It was one of my favorite day trips so far. Thanks for the tickets, Brian! And Bama...Roll Damn Tide!
Roll Tide. Love the DZ house. Turtles4Lyfe.
