Stitch Fix: Wherein I attempt to model

A few years back- I think 2011- I discovered Stitch Fix, the Birchbox of clothing. The basic premise- 1. Fill out an online style questionnaire (this includes brands you like, price points, sizes, etc)
2. Pay a $20 "styling fee"
3. Wait for your fix to be shipped
4. Select any items you'd like to keep and pay online
5. Ship the rest back in the provided, stamped, envelope

When your fix arrives, there are five pieces- usually four articles of clothing and one accessory. You can choose to keep any and all of the pieces, and the $20 styling fee is applied to anything you decide to purchase- otherwise it's forfeited. If you keep all five, there's a 25% discount. I tried it, and wasn't thrilled with any of the items that arrived. The items seemed cheap, didn't fit well at ALL, and arrived wrinkly. The only thing I recall liking was a pair of teardrop earrings, but at $100, they weren't in my 23 year old's budget. I said goodbye to the $20 and vowed never to get a fix again.

A few weeks ago, I recieved an email about Stitch Fix from Klout Perks. Since it's been a few years (and I didn't have to pay the $20) I figured I'd give it another shot.

When the package arrived, I could tell they'd made some updates in the past two years. In a world where everything is available online, packing HAS to stand out (Kate Spade anyone?). The advertiser in me loved how they pulled together their brand colors and shapes- and I loved how it was put together like a present. Minou loved it too, as he thinks all mail is for him.

The great thing about Stitch Fix is that it's not just a box of clothes- they actually assign you a stylist who goes through your style profile and actually tries to send you things that you WANT. For example, I noted in my Style Profile that I was looking for items that could be worn either out, or to work- the elusive "business casual", if you will.

In my note from my Stylist, they sent me some great outfit ideas and ways to put the items together. And note the abundance of blue. I LOVE BLUE. So without further adieu, here are some of the outfits I put together. Please feel free to laugh at my attempt at blogger modeling.

Stitch Fix Pomelo Edmond Chevron Henley- $54 | AG Jeans | Halogen Booties (similar)| Purse Gucci (vintage)

Stitch Fix Red Haute Willa Cowl Neck- $59 | AG Jeans | Sole Society Booties (on sale!) | Mal's Dog

Stich Fix Daniel Rainn Bilson Pleat Blouse- $89 |  Stitch Fix Henry & Belle Abana Jean - $140 | Rue Lala Booties (similar) | Kate Spade Necklace

Overall, I was really impressed with my second go round with Stitch Fix. The sizing was ON POINT- it takes me such a long time to find jeans that I like, and the fit of these was dead on. None of the tops were anything I'd go looking for, but I really liked them and thought it was kind of nice to be forced out of my comfort zone. I think my favorite items were the chevron bracelet and the legging jeans.

If you're interested in signing up for a Stitch Fix of your own, get after it! It's always fun to get mail, and it's worth the $20 to try it at least once.  What are some of your favorite Beauty/Fashion subscription boxes?
