Save the Chattahoochee with a haircut

So as most of you know, deep inside of me, there is an inner hippie trying to escape. I am constantly waging an inter-office war with our traffic manager over how many things get printed daily...It's my Idahoness. I know, potatoes, whatever. But actually, NORTHERN Idaho, (AKA the Superior Idaho) is very green, animal, and nature friendly. I have neighbors with a pet Bison. This isn't a joke- her name is CJ, and she sleeps on the kitchen floor. Moving on...

Moving to Georgia was my first experience with "drought". Obviously in Chicago, we have the Michigan Ocean, and the Pacific Northwest is famous for rain, so rules about sprinklers, paying for water in my rent, etc. were all very  new to me.  THEN I started reading about the wars with Tennessee over property/water lines. (Again, WHERE DO I LIVE???) For the first time in my life, I have an excuse to skip showers. I'm saving the environment, duh.

Speaking of showers, let's take a moment to break and talk about something almost as important as the environment: My hair.

I get my hair cut like, twice a year max, to the chagrin of Eric, my go to stylist. I just can't justify $75 to cut an 1/8 of an inch. Sometimes I even let my mom cut my hair (see? Hippie).

So where am I going with these two seemingly unrelated things? I have a point, I swear (Legally Blonde has been on Bravo nonstop for the past month, ok)! Well Atlantans can help our friend the Chattachoochee River by getting a haircut! Starting Monday, April 7th from 4-6pm, Van Michael Salon in Buckhead will be celebrating Earth Month with their annual Cut-A-Thon.  For a minimum donation of $25, guests will receive a haircut and blow dry by one of Van Michael's top stylists.  All proceeds will benefit the Chattachoochee Riverkeeper, an Atlanta-based organization dedicated to protecting and restorting the Chattahoochee River Basin- the primary drinking water source for almost 4 million Georgians.

First of all- you can't even get a $25 haircut in Idaho. Secondly, I drink water like a fish so this cause is obviously right up my alley. And if you can't make it today, they're celebrating all month long with a raffle to win an ultimate prize basket, which I can only assume is a personalized jet, six gold bars, and cabana in Bali. Press release is below.

You thought I was kidding about CJ, didn't you? Also, 13 was a rough age for us all OKAY?
