Omg you guys. After last night's Miss America Shenanigans, I was totally prepared for Monday to suck. I mean, it's kind of totally embarrassing that we live in a country where people think Chechnya=Czech Republic and Indian= Arab. But I digress. There are less depressing things to talk about today!
Cut Copy just announced a World Tour (which isn't coming anywhere NEAR the South, thanks a lot guys) but with a World Tour comes a new album! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS OF YOUR WEEK. This morning, I decided to switch from my usual 90's on 9 Sirius/XM station to the University Station, because I just had this urge. Out of nowhere, this complete gem hit my ears. Cut Copy + SOLANGE. And- Free Your Mind? What could be a better message for today (hey, free your mind to a world where Miss America can be brown for the Good Lord's sake!) There could not possibly a pairing of more hip musicians. I feel like my street cred just went up by knowing this song even exists! I will obviously be playing it 47 times today.
