I love running out of makeup. I try really hard to not buy shampoo, mascara, soap, etc. unless I'm out because I hate clutter, and I like everything to fit nicely into my little Lilly cosmetics bag. Currently, I'm using this NARS duo of Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer, and it's almost gone. I love Laguna, and it's OFFICIALLY summertime so I will definitely buy some more of this faux bronze (since God knows I don't get tan). However, I think I want to test out some different blush options this go around. Here are some of the blushes I'm looking at:
First off, I'm pale. I don't tan. I gave up trying in high school, because there is a lot of skin cancer in my family. I also get a LOT of compliments on my skin (humblebrag, I know...but let me tell you, more often than not, if I'm in the elevator with an older woman alone, 75% of the time they comment on my skin) so I try really hard to keep it in good shape. I know that light pinks are the best colors for my skin type, but I'm curious about different textures.
Since I already know I love NARS, I'm thinking about trying a cream stick, rather than the powder. I've heard really good things about cream blushes for those with dry skin (me!) and I think this color is gorgeous.
Everybody knows the story of Benetint, and how it was originally created for strippers and made Benefit into the company it is today. I know the color goes on sheer and it smells amazing, but I'm nervous about using a stain. I could probably mess this up easily.
One of my favorite things about Tarte as a brand is all of their makeup is sulfate free. I've used the Amazonian Clay eyeliner before and I loved it (it does take a steady hand though!) and I've seen a lot of other bloggers raving about this blush. The only thing I'm weary about is that it recommends using a fan brush, and I prefer getting in there and using my hands like a five year old.
4. Tarte- Cheek Stain in True Love
I've used Tarte Cheek Stain in the past during college, and I love how long it lasts. I probably kept it around way longer than was sanitary. The color I had was some kind of special Valentine's Day exclusive, and I could never find it again. This Sheer Watermelon color looks very similar though. I'm really interested in testing this out.
5. bareMinerals- bareMinerals Blush in Fruit Cocktail
I have never jumped on the bareMinerals train, not even once. I feel like that's kind of surprising considering how much I love buying makeup, but I've never used powders or foundations, and I used to think that's all bareMinerals did. I love this color, but the packaging does make me a little nervous. I can see myself spilling this all over the bathroom floor.
So I'm off to Sephora, to figure out which one of these is best for me. I'll be back with updates! Any recommendations?
This is too funny. I was just at Ulta yesterday shopping blush because my NARS Orgasm ran out. I ended up buying a minerals blush that comes in little rocks. It may prove to be too messy for me, but the luminescence is great. Sephora has so much of a better make-up section, but alas we don't have one here. Benetint was always a little too red/circly for me. Let me know if you find anything you love!
