5 On Friday, Blogtember, Don Jon

I honestly didn't think I would make it to Friday this week. It has been QUITE a doozy. A project I've been on at work since May is FINALLY launching today and it's basically like, hell week times 50. (Mainly because we didn't really have hell week, we had I-week and got presents. Go Kappa!) Anyway. I could NOT be happier that the weekend has finally arrived. In addition to J finally returning home from his business trip, I have big plans for a much needed mani/pedi with my friend Julie this weekend (isn't her name the best?) amongst some other things. I decided that since it's been awhile, I'd link up with the lovely ladies from 5 on Friday today!

1. A few months ago, my wonderful Mother sent me a gift card to Sephora, and I FINALLY ran out of my hand-me-down Garnier BB cream (my best friend bought it and it was too pale for her and we all known there's nobody pastier than me.) I liked it, but I have REALLY been wanting to try out Clinique's CC cream, so I picked some up this week. At first I felt like it was a little thick, because I'm used to tinted moisturizer and I'm terrified of foundation- but I have really grown to love it. The thickness comes from the moisturizing cream in it, not so much color. It still goes on pretty sheer. I'm not 100% sold on it- I think next time I'll try out the Clinique BB cream- but I am definitely satisfied with this purchase.

2. A family friend of mine who lives in the Atlanta suburbs just started selling Mary Kay, and she needs to do 30 makeovers for her portfolio. Tomorrow we're doing a makeover party (thank goodness J will be at Music Midtown all day)! I can't wait for an afternoon of snacks, drinks, and getting pretty with my Atlanta favorites!

3. On Tuesday night, Mal and I went to a pre-screening of the movie Don Jon, which comes out next Friday. I got the invite through Klout perks, (social media #FTW) and I'm really glad I did! I had seen previews for this film and I wasn't totally sold, but I figured, hey, it's free- why not? Turns out I LOVED it! It was completely inappropriate, but absolutely hilarious. Plus, Joseph Gordon Levit wrote AND directed the film, and he is one of my absolute favorites. It's definitely not for the faint hearted (think American Pie raunch) but it had a good message in the end. Also- how can you not LOVE Julianne Moore, and not just becuse she has a fabulous name.

4.. Today's #Blogtember topic is- Respond to the word comfort. I have ONE response to this:
Seriously. I would live my life in Wunder Unders if it was socially acceptable.

5. Sunday is the OFFICIAL first day of Fall! While I don't think it will hit Atlanta for another month or so, I have started to notice some leaves changing. I am not quite ready to give up my pool lounging on Saturdays, but I am excited to get some of my favorite sweaters out. I may have bought a few this weekend with a Banana Republic gift card I had as well. Honestly, these pictures do not do them justice. The green sweater is navy on the inside and has adorable snaps on the hem. I highly recommend you head to Banana and check them out! Per usual, they are having an excellent sale.

Happy happy happy weekend! It could not have come sooner!

  1. Glad to hear you liked Don Jon. I've been on the fence about whether or not I wanted to see it. I haven't even really seen any good previews for it!
