I love this picture

Day 17, Friday: A favorite photo of yourself and why

This really needs three photos, because the picture I love didn't turn out well. But here she is, in all her glory.  This picture was taken on November 6th, 2012 at McCormick Place in Chicago.  You will remember this as either a) a really awesome, fabulous day or b) a really depressing day (and which case, you should probably run far away from this blog now).  Thanks to my good friend Kate, Katie (of the blonde squad) and I were able to attend the election night rally. I actually attended the 2008 election rally as well, which WOULD be my favorite picture had I taken any- whoops.  As a raging liberal, being in this environment was absolutely incredible. The picture below is Katie and I, showing off our respective "Idaho loves Obama" and "Bo loves Obama" signs, seconds after Mittens FINALLY fucking conceded. As a human being with a uterus, I simultaneously felt overwhelming joy and relief.  I love this picture because it really captures true joy, in a way that most other pictures of me cannot.

I know a lot of people hate the dude, but I am so awed by his speaking ability, and his ability to inspire.  We don't need a leader who is going to dictate our lives.  We need a leader who will inspire us to improve our own lives.  And that's exactly what he's done for me.
